The Hughson Fire Department's Station is located at the corner of Charles & Pine Streets in downtown Hughson, 1 block from Hughson Ave.

The City of Hughson is approximately 5 miles East of the City of Ceres, California. With Highway 99 approximately 6 miles away, access to Hughson is rather quick and easy. Take the Hughson/Whitmore Ave turnoff in Ceres. Simply stay on Whitmore headed East until you enter Hughson. You know you have arrived when you cross the Burlington Northern/Santa Fe Railroad Tracks at Whitmore Ave. at Santa Fe Ave. Hughson Ave which is Hughson's Main Street is one block north approximately.

The Hughson Fire Protection District is a Volunteer Fire Department lead by a Career (Paid) Chief. The Chief is Scott Berner. He is assisted by Assistant Chief Ray Camagna

A board of Directors administers the District, with all 3 members being elected to their positions. The current members are:

The current district is approximately 35 square miles with a population of over 10,000 people. The area consists of both residential and commercial areas with-in the City of Hughson, and some commercial parcels around the area outside the City. The countryside around Hughson is dotted with homes scattered mostly in and around the Almond, Walnut and Peach Orchards which are the main agricultural background of the immediate area surrounding Hughson. There are several large commercial businesses in Hughson which include the Dairy Farmers of America plant, The Hughson Cold Storage facility and Builders Choice, Inc Engineered Roof & Floor Truss facility. The Burlington Northern/Santa Fe Railroad passes right through Hughson and is very busy with both Freight and Amtrak service sharing the road.
